August 25,
2008 - Online
Video Service, Inc.
(OVS), the trusted
leader in Internet
broadcasting, reported
today that it has been
selected to greatly
increase its webcasting
of the U.S. Nuclear
Regulatory Commission's
(NRC) public
proceedings.
Since 2004, OVS has been
the exclusive Internet
broadcasting provider
for the NRC. The
company's Location-based
Solution(TM), managed
remotely from its
Seattle-based Broadcast
Operations Center(TM),
handles live webcasting
of NRC meetings on a
regular basis from NRC's
primary venue in
Rockville, Maryland,
U.S.A. OVS' expanded
scope includes expansion
of the Location-based
Solution(TM) to deliver
simultaneous live
webcasting of NRC
proceedings from
multiple venues.
"We are very pleased to
assist the NRC in
extending broader access
of its proceedings to
stakeholders across the
United States and around
the world," remarked OVS
Chairman and CEO Tim
Treanor. "The NRC was
one of the first federal
entities to realize how
webcasting would
dramatically increase
government transparency
and openness."
OVS President Matt
Eldridge, who runs the
company's international
business from its
offices in Amsterdam
observed, "Through
webcasting, the NRC
established the 'gold
standard' for good
government that other
top-tier agencies,
departments and
legislative bodies
worldwide are starting
to follow." He added,
"The NRC's broad
expansion of Internet
broadcasting is an
unmistakable bellwether
for participatory
democracy around the
globe."
The NRC's primary
mission is to protect
the public health and
safety, and the
environment from the
effects of radiation
from nuclear reactors,
materials, and waste
facilities. For more

webcasts and a complete
