May 5,
2010 - The
National Association of
Government Communicators
(NAGC), a leading
professional network of
U.S. public sector
communications officers,
highlighted this week
the contributions made
to it by Online Video
Service, Inc. (OVS) Vice
President for Business
Development Joshua Folk.
NAGC featured Folk in
the "Member Spotlight"
section of its May 2010
official newsletter, the
NAGC Communicator.
NAGC President-Elect
Jennifer Lohr described
how Folk has added value
to the organization,
most recently by
spearheading efforts to
recruit the "millenial
generation" of
government communicators.
With the support of NAGC
leadership, Folk formed
a committee called Next
Generation
Communicators, or
NextGenComm.
"Within 6 weeks, he
recruited two committee
members and had an
advisor," Lohr noted.
"Thanks to Josh’s
enthusiasm and
leadership, the
committee has written
goals, a marketing plan,
is planning its first
event for May 11th in
Washington, D.C."
"What a thrill to see
Josh receive this
recognition," commented
OVS President Matt
Eldridge. "He
joined NAGC three years
ago when OVS exhibited
at its annual
Communications School
event. It's
impressive to see what
Josh has been able to
accomplish - especially
by recruiting and
engaging new members
through NextGenComm."
Lohr also remarked on
Folk's work experience
and his role for OVS in
Washington, D.C.
In light of recent
efforts by the White
House to increase
government openness and
accountability, Folk has
found growing interest
in OVS' solutions.
"His understanding of
how webcasting can
increase the level of
transparency within an
organization is allowing
him to quickly become an
expert on the new Open
Government Directive,"
stated Lohr.
"Truly, a wonderful and
unexpected surprise,"
reacted Folk.
"It's been a pleasure to
get more involved in
NAGC since relocating
here late last year and I'm flattered to be
highlighted in the
newsletter. I look
forward to giving back
to NAGC by working with
other members
to take NextGenComm to
the next level."
