December 1,
2010 - Online Video Service, Inc. (OVS) began today implementation of a large-scale, 5-year transparency contract with a major New York State government agency, the Department of Public Service (DPS). This contract underscores DPS' open government priority to engage stakeholders in its proceedings by webcasting public meetings live and on demand. It also demonstrates DPS' history of compliance with Executive Order 3, which calls on New York State agencies to extend access to meetings by sharing video and related documents over the Internet.
“The push for open government is growing," remarked OVS CEO Tim Treanor. "And New York State and its Department of Public Service in particular are at the forefront of this change in the way state and federal government agencies do business."
OVS provides a range of transparency solutions that empower governments, large nonprofits and educational institutions to cost-effectively and securely communicate online with key stakeholders, live or on-demand over the Internet. The company's primary offering is its Open Government Platform – which consists of a series of technology applications that allow organizations to webcast public meetings, educational content, conferences and other events in a dynamic and searchable form. The Open Government Platform is a cost-effective tool for transparency that increases governmental efficiency and saves organizations time and money.
