January 5,
2011 - Online Video Service, Inc. (OVS) announced today it has been chosen to demonstrate its Open Government Platform technology at the 14th Annual Congressional Internet Caucus Advisory Committee Kickoff Technology Policy Exhibition, on January 11, 2011. The Tech Policy Exhibition, now the largest and longest-running technology event on Capitol Hill, highlights how technology can address some of the key issues that will impact policy-making in the 112th Congress. Hands-on demonstrations surrounding healthcare, privacy, digital content, parental controls, education and cyber security will help illuminate these debates and possible solutions.
“We are at the dawn of the new age of transparency,” said OVS CEO Tim Treanor. “Our Open Government Platform facilitates transparency by enabling Federal agencies to give taxpayers access to live or on-demand video content via the Internet.”
OVS provides a range of transparency solutions that empower governments, large nonprofits and educational institutions to cost-effectively and securely communicate online with key stakeholders, live or on-demand over the Internet. At ICAC, the company will demonstrate its Open Government Platform – a series of technology applications that allow organizations to webcast public meetings, educational content, conferences and other events in a dynamic and searchable form. The Open Government Platform is a cost-effective tool for transparency that increases governmental efficiency and saves organizations time and money. Utilizing high-quality video and software-as-a-service (SaaS) centralized functionality, the OVS Open Government Platform supports features such as captioning, video search, archiving, multiple languages, carbon reduction analysis and toll-free support. OVS is a pioneer in the field of transparency and has been recognized as a leader in its market by Forrester Research.
The Congressional Internet Caucus Advisory Committee is a diverse group of public interest, non-profit, and industry groups working to educate Congress and the public about important Internet-related policy issues. The goal of this annual tech exhibition is to bring cutting-edge technology demonstrations to Capitol Hill that illustrate the power and flexibility of the Internet as a medium for communications, commerce, and democracy. This event will be widely attended by Internet industry and non-profit representatives, leading academics, and government policy staff.
